Adesso continua cosi e vedrai che a Padova "spaccherai il mondo"<BR/>Ciao NickNick.12https://www.blogger.com/profile/01755121997566186779noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8530479220997059633.post-65428522714516770622008-01-28T12:52:00.000+01:002008-01-28T12:52:00.000+01:00Complimenti!Complimenti!Danielehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17958002419807850295noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8530479220997059633.post-82768715869393213712008-01-28T10:37:00.000+01:002008-01-28T10:37:00.000+01:00POST - TRANSLATIONafter a week of horrible weather...POST - TRANSLATION<BR/><BR/>after a week of horrible weather wIth rain and annoying wind, i finally woke up to a sunny and almost spring-like day: perfect for a race! i was a bit nervous, but i always am, dunno why!<BR/><BR/>at around 1pm i get on my bike and go to my friends' house and with them i go to raheny by car. for the first time since i'm in dublin i see clontarf and i finally understand what's all the fuss about it. a nice park along the costline, view on the islands and, on a sunny day, almost unreal colours!! once in raheny liam decides to take the final bit of the race course where the horrible hill is. but there i realise that the hill is not really steep nor long. it must be my memory which is getting kind of crap or it's just that i have a different perceptions of hills now with the new training.<BR/><BR/>there are lots of people at the race. we go and get the numbers; ritual queue to the loo and off we go. i had set my garmin to stick to a certain pace for each mile, a sort of pacers really. i let liam and ciarran go ahead, as they are faster than me; i hear the gun, i switch on my garmin and it's the start.<BR/><BR/>i remembered the course quite flat until the downhill to the cost. but it was really undulating all the way through but the garmin helped me with my pace. after almost a mile i see andrea and fabio on the pavement, smiling at me. i give them the high 5 and i keep on going. despite my breathing is heavy everything goes to plan until mile 3,5. once we are along the sea there's the hill and that takes everything away from me. after the hill there's only half a mile to go and i just wanted to stop there! but of course i don't. at one point i realise that i'd set my garmin on 5mile and we all know that races are often longer. this means that my garmin will stop before the end not givin me the right finish time. at that point it doesn't really matter, does it? <BR/><BR/>once i see the finish line, the big watch that says 41' i start to run like crazy and i manage to finish in 42'12''!!<BR/><BR/>3'21'' less than last year. even though it's still hard for me to keep the new pace and i'm often breathing heavily, i can see that i'm going somewhere. i just have to get used to the heavy breathing since with my old training that would have never happened. i was always always in my comfort zone. <BR/><BR/>there was no medal at the end, only a plaque ...which looks funny!<BR/><BR/>now...let's keep going and bring the 4th week on!!monicahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02305788726884247960noreply@blogger.com
